GETTING TO THE ISLAND |
|
Two ferry services
provide year-round transportation to Chebeague, the largest island in Casco
Bay. Parking is available at both departure sites.
The 45-minute trip via Casco Bay Lines, operating from
Portland, includes a scenic tour of Casco Bay and makes several stops to
discharge passengers and freight at many inner islands on its meandering to
Chebeague.
A 15-minute ferry ride on privately owned Chebeague
Transportation Company offers the more direct, albeit less scenic, route to
the island.

DIRECTIONS to Casco Bay
Lines (CBL) in Portland:
From Maine Interstate 95, take
Exit 44 for South Portland. Straight onto I-295 North. Follow I-295 North for
3 miles. Exit right onto Commercial Street. Follow Commercial Street along
the harbor to intersection of Franklin Arterial. Turn right into Casco Bay
Lines Ferry Terminal, where parking is available.

DIRECTIONS to Chebeague
Transportation (CTC) in Cumberland:
From Maine Interstate 95, take
Exit 52 for Falmouth. Cross overpass and take Exit 15B onto Route 1 North.
Follow Route 1 North for 3.5 miles. Turn left into satellite parking lot. Free
bus service to the wharf on Cousins Island departs from this lot 30 minutes
before each scheduled ferry trip.

on the island are extremely limited. Taxi service is available. If you’re
planning to bring your own vehicle or wish to check passenger schedules and

GETTING TO SUNNYSIDE |
Taxi service is available from
both landing sites to Sunnyside and during your stay. Call Veteran’s Taxi at
(207) 846-4876 for reservations.

DIRECTIONS from CBL landing at Chandlers Cove:
Follow the tarred road leading
from the wharf for .75 miles. Just beyond a large white farm house and
field on the right, turn right onto Jenks Landing Road and then turn left to Sunnyside
at
the end of the peninsula.

DIRECTIONS from CTC landing at the Stone Pier:
Follow
the tarred road leading from the wharf and turn right at the intersection.
Pass the golf course, museum, island market, library, and grange on the
right. Bear left at the next fork in the road. Follow this road past the boat
yard and turn left at the end. Take the next left onto Jenks
Landing Road and then turn left to Sunnyside at the end of the peninsula.
